Introduction:
CLAUDIO FEIJóO holds a MSc and PhD in Telecommunication Engineering and a MSc in Economy. Currently he is Professor at Technical University of Madrid and Co-Director of the Sino-Spanish Campus at Tongji University in Shanghai. He researches on the future socio-economic impact of emerging information society technologies, in particular, from a next generation mobile and/or content perspective. He is also guest lecturer at the IE Business School. From his work experience, he enjoyed very much his two years at the Institute for Prospective Technological Studies of the European Commission, the direction of the Chair in Telecommunications Regulation and Information Society Public Policies at Technical University of Madrid, and participating in the information society development plans and broadband deployment strategies while being adviser for the Spanish State Secretary on Telecommunications and Information Society. He has been involved in numerous research, development, innovation and consulting projects, both public and private, in Spain, Europe, Latin America, North of Africa and now in China. On the entrepreneurial side, for three years he was dedicated to launch a university spin-off devoted to the transfer of know-how in technology, media and telecommunications. Since then he has participated in numerous start-up companies. The last two apply new technologies to the insurance sector and develop tools for personal productivity, respectively. In addition, he lectures regularly in seminars and postgraduate courses and has authored many publications in main journals and conferences.
